This is a great insight into the past, present and potential future of CR in the UK! Couldn’t agree more about the importance of comprehensive Ax and then designing a programme that meets that pt’s goals, rather than trying to direct everyone towards a supervised exercise program

Back home after a really enjoyable and inspiring couple of days at #BACPR2024 conference! Bittersweet as my last one as a council member but looking forward to seeing everyone again next year in Glasgow!
Promised to share this after #BACPR2024 … managing emergencies in LVAD recipients. This is regarding management in a transplant centre but some background info for those who asked.
Nice to be able to take just a short bus journey on a sunny Manchester evening to get to #BACPR2024 conference this year! Looking forward to catching up with old friends, lots of discussion and sharing some insights from @SCOCardioRehab

It will be the mission of my department, every member of this government, and the 1.4 million people who work in the NHS, to turn our health service around.
That work starts now.
A fantastic opportunity has opened for an ambitious, dynamic, and enthusiastic Exercise Practitioner to join the Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Team at UCLH.

Members of our team in attendance at today’s @bacpr exercise professional group study day in Birmingham. They presented posters showcasing innovative work within our service and we look forward to them feeding back what they have learnt from the great array of speakers on the day
@TxPhysio@bacpr@ACPICR@cardiacrehabuk@cardiac_rehab7 We used to ask them to rate their confidence to exercise in a simple likert scale as part of exercise assessment but have moved away from this to just using subjective questioning- this obviously this isn’t used for audit purposes but helps guide input.
@TxPhysio@bacpr@ACPICR@cardiacrehabuk@cardiac_rehab7 I don’t know of any that are specifically related to confidence to exercise. Most teams will use HADs as part of NACR but this is not directly related to exercise. Patient activation measure (PAM) is a very good tool but again not specifically exercise related.
Great to see roles like this emerging, and something I think will only continue to increase as the understanding of the unique skills and qualities of exercise physiologists grows! https://t.co/xcqKRdjJf9
