Such a joy and privilege to conduct @ExeterBach last night in J S Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (Parts 1,2, 3 and 6). Stunning solos as well from @bethpartridge1, Stephen Mills, Juliet Curnow and Julian Rippon and orchestral playing of the highest standard led by Anna Cockroft.
We’re excited for our winter programme around J S Bach’s fabulous Christmas Oratorio. It includes a ‘Come and Sing’ workshop on 26 Nov with Jonathan Peter Kenny, our concert of parts 1,2,3 and 6 on 17 December and a cantata service of Part 4 on 15 January. Check out our website!

It has been great to be back with @ExeterBach over the past two weeks preparing for our performance of Handel’s Saul in April 2022! Over to the brilliant Stephen Tanner now for Feb & March! 🎶 #Handel
We're delighted to announce that tickets are now available for our first public concert in 18 months. The choir will be performing Bach's St John Passion on Saturday 18 September 2021 at Southernhay URC, Exeter with an exciting line-up of soloists: https://t.co/M9raxQMOCA
We encourage all choir members and Trustees to write to their MPs and directly to @DCMS. The new performing arts guidance is not only disrespectfully late but is also illogical and unfair. We will be heard. @abcdtweets@MakingMusic_UK@OliverDowden @BenPBradshaw #LetChoirsSing
We’re very much looking forward to resuming face-to-face rehearsals on Thursday 20 May in line with Step 3 of the government’s roadmap. We’ll be starting with Bach’s St John Passion and can’t wait to begin singing again. 🎶

Thank you to all who have been involved with this study - it is absolutely crucial in changing the narrative and promoting a sensible risk based approach to the resumption of choral singing for the thousands of musicians who are desperate to return to work. 🙏
1/4 We’re absolutely thrilled that last night’s @DCMS update to the performing arts guidance now permits amateur music groups in England to meet under the same guidelines as professionals!
@ace_national@DCMS@hmtreasury We are in need of additional funding to support our freelance Musical Director and Assistant Musical Director whilst we cannot run rehearsals. However, the £50,000 minimum threshold is far too much for an organisation like us... Do you have any advice?
We are sad to announce that our remaining events of the 2019/20 season have been postponed in light of updated government advice on 16 March 2020 regarding COVID-19. Stay tuned for updates and please do anything you can to support self-employed musicians in this awful crisis.
We‘re extremely excited for Handel’s Saul on 21 March 2020. A wildly exciting, operatic oratorio, this is a work which is seldom performed and is inspired by the @glyndebourne revival of this great work. Tickets available here: https://t.co/rKley44BzT
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Peter Kenny (Conductor - @ETOpera ) as our new Honorary Patron. Jonathan is a perfect choice due to his infectious passion for both sacred and secular Baroque music and a love for the city of Exeter: https://t.co/s0vaZUddzU
We are now recruiting singers for our 25th anniversary 2019/20 season! Why not join us in September for Bach's B Minor Mass, Handel's Saul and much more? We're always interested in hearing from singers with a passion for performing to a high standard.
