🔴 The largest museum in the world — Maya
In 2019, together with the Expedition Corps, we explored the world's largest museum of the Maya people in the city of Mérida (Mexico). But what we saw there gave us some certain thoughts.
It was an impressive-sized cross with a cloth hanging on it, somewhat reminiscent of a traditional Ukrainian "rushnyk" (embroidered towel).
Next, we were greeted by a figure resembling a maiden that you might encounter in European temples.
The "Kim" copy in Cornell University's collection was created over 90 years ago, in 1925, and is considered part of a series of books with a "revealing" picture on the edge: with a slight bend of the page block, a picturesque landscape appears 🤩
This technique, practiced in England for centuries, was especially popular from the 17th–18th centuries onward; one of the renowned artists in this genre is Caroline Billin Currie, who signed approximately 175 works.
The only thing scholars are certain of is that the artifact definitely belongs to ancient Egyptian culture. And its primary purpose is rituals during burial and appeals to the gods.

This item is located in a Dutch archaeological museum and is an alabaster disk weighing 75 kg.
