This is what happens when public service touches ordinary lives. A moving testimonial on HE Rotimi Amaechi's tenure as Governor below.
"My only prayer and wish is that Nigerians open their hearts and vote competence. Vote for people who would try their very best to eradicate poverty and giver Nigerians a conducive environment. In 2014, there was this dental clinic at Garrison in port-harcourt built by Amaechi who was then governor, I had free dental care at that clinic, 1kobo wasn’t taken from me for the care and drugs I was amazed. My father had to take out my two kid brothers from private schools to the then Amaechi’s remodeled primary and secondary schools where they were given free laptops, books, learning kits, uniforms down to shoes and socks. Those kids were the envy of private school children. But today see how Rivers state is😭. My cousin was part of the people who enjoyed scholarship from the rivers state government through Amaechi. These and many more, Abi na the roads we wan talk about like the dualization of market road in Rumuomasi which is one of the durable roads in port harcourt till date. I can’t vouch for anyone, but I can vouch that a government that has Rt Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi would be a working government. I am an ordinary Inwhuruonha lady who just wants this coming children to enjoy what my kid brothers enjoyed back then."

Update: We are glad to announce that the United States is already assessing a potential post-Tinubu scenario ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming presidential election. In our opinion, it has become clear to everyone in D.C. that Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) cannot win the upcoming election unless undemocratic tactics (rigging) are employed by the Tinubu government.
Our objective now is to ensure that the United States communicates clearly to President #Tinubu and his allies at @inecnigeria that it is monitoring developments and that there will be consequences for any actions that silence the will of the Nigerian people and adversely affect U.S. interests in the region.
Let us be clear: the United States is not taking sides. The next Nigerian president will be decided by the Nigerian people, and the Nigerian people alone.

In the picture below is Duma Gideon Boko, an honest man and human rights lawyer who is currently serving as the sixth president of Botswana. He attended a @UN General Assembly Leaders’ Reception hosted by President Donald @realDonaldTrump and did so by offering nothing but his good name.
Missing from the event was Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT), who, despite a reported $9 million D.C. engagement effort and $700 billion in Nigerian mineral resources, was reportedly “disinvited.” In the end, President #Tinubu was not seated very close to President Trump.
Instead, President #Tinubu was sitting in a hotel room in France, fuming and cursing at this firm. President Tinubu allegedly was part of a group that smuggled #heroin from Nigeria into the United States. The United States cannot afford to be associated with him or his administration. The time for change in Nigeria is now.

ADC Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, alongside his running mate, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, at the 66th Independence Day International Press Conference, where HE Atiku Abubakar is currently delivering his address.
ADC Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON (@atiku), and his running mate, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi CON, depart together for the 66th Independence Anniversary International Press Conference.
The fear of Atiku is real.
His growing political momentum, despite the APC’s attempts to undermine him, is beginning to unsettle the Tinubu camp.
With a free, fair and credible election, Atiku has a strong case for victory in 2027.
His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON, Waziri Adamawa, Vice President of Nigeria (1999–2007), will address an International Press Conference to mark the 66th Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The press conference is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Conference Hall of the National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), 121 Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse II, Abuja.
When I felt we were not going in the right direction, I went to see President Buhari in his office. He was downstairs and said he was going for lunch. I said, "No sir, I need to see you." We had a bit of protest here and there, and then he said, "Okay, let’s see at the reception."
So we walked into the reception office, and then we shut the door.
"Mr. President,"
He said, "Yes."
"You recall I was your DG?"
He said, "Yes."
"Mr. President, you recall that when people were voting for us, they thought they were voting for the Buhari of 1983?"
He said, "Yes."
"Mr. President, are we keeping to that expectation?"
He turned to me: "Amaechi."
I said, "Sir!"
"That Buhari of 1983 had no parliament. That Buhari of 1983 was young, so it can’t be the same."
Then I said, "Thank you, sir."
I went into my car, drove back to my house, and met my wife, Judith, and said to her, "The president has admitted that he has been overwhelmed by what is going on."
The next day, I went back to Mr. President and asked, "Can I go to the university?"
He said, "Yes."
Then I applied. In the application, I said I won’t be in the office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday—that’s technically resigning from government. The only day I came to the office was Wednesdays.

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
President Tinubu Signs Appropriation (Amendment) (No.4) Bill, 2025, Extends Implementation to December 31, 2026
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed into law the Appropriation (Amendment) (No.4) Bill, 2025, extending the implementation period of the 2025 budget from September 30, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
The assent followed the amendment's swift passage by both the Senate and the House of Representatives on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The extension gives Ministries, Departments and Agencies more time to complete ongoing capital projects. It ensures that funds already appropriated are fully put to work for Nigerians, without disrupting critical programmes.
The President commended the leadership and members of the National Assembly for their prompt consideration of the bill, a further sign of the cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature in the service of the nation.
