@nickmmark 💯
Residents always want to data dump a long list of numbers I’ve already reviewed. I stop them and make them tell me:
1. One liner on why patient is there
2. Key overnight events
3. diagnoses and plans by system
Don’t read me out the ABG, tell me what it means!
the ones that look like dad’s side are straight. And two of her sisters each have a lesbian daughter. So clearly it’s genetic and from her side. And if somehow it’s nurture and not nature, she raised me so still her fault. (Never came out to my dad, he was out of the picture)
32. Told my mom in July ‘14. She cried, said I was displeasing to god, would die alone, and never have kids. Convo went downhill from there.
Eventually, I got annoyed and told her it was her fault I was gay. Pointed out how all of her sons that look like her side are gay 1/2
@legalstufff It’s totally normal for the partner with a norma to have feelings about us being MIA. And it’s even ok for them to voice it.
Just not with anger or petty and impossible demands.
“I miss you, is there a time/way we can connect soon?” 👍🏻
“You NEVER… If you loved me…” 👎🏻
@legalstufff Right?! They like the vacations we pay for. But get pissed when we’re not available on a “normal” schedule.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather not be on call on Christmas either. But someone has to be!
@Hearts0faKing Libra. And I need effort and reciprocity.
Also, make me special, wanted and safe.
But all that has way more to do with how I’ve been burned in the past than what constellation the sun was passing through the day I was born.
@captchristman@MarioNawfal Most of the American refineries are on the gulf coast in Texas and Louisiana. So to get to Asia, they have to go through the Panama Canal
@doclauravater In my job (trauma and surgical critical care) the death and dying is often more sudden/unexpected. But walking with families and patients through the process is one of the most sacred and beautiful things about my job. It’s hard and heavy at times, but also an honor.
@Here_s_Hoping This reminds me of an Alice Walker short story I read 20+ years ago in college- “Everyday Use”
Use them. Your great grandmother made them to be used.
@lady_valor_07 Roth IRA. Automatically divert part of every paycheck in it. Even if it’s only $50/pay period.
Time in the market beats everything else. 40 year old will be grateful.
