My code can’t be tidier than my thinking. The purpose of my tidying is to clarify my thinking by manipulating the code. The code ends up better, but because I understand more not because I somehow forced it to be better in spite of my confusion.

@coderush FWI I was given a task of renaming a namespace across a dozen or so projects. CR couldn't resolve the rename. Because the rest of my team uses resharper, I installed the trial version and it took care of it. UX stinks, but works is wins. Can't send repo :(

@webdad3 My first job out of college, a jr developer in embedded systems paid $11 an hour. I'm pretty sure I was below average, but thrilled to work with passionate people. I still push my learning envelope today and as a result I'm paid above average.

@webdad3 When people ask me what I do, I normally respond "I get paid to play". Then I wait for the quizzical look and tell them I am a developer. I didn't pick the career because there were a lot of jobs, nor for the pay. I fell in love with creating things. Good pay is a bonus.
