@JamieCropley@brave Pinning is 100% a Chrome/Brave thing, internal to the browser. There's zero support in the API for pinning/unpinning, so Extensity can't do much about it.
I was meant to build pinning "memory" features, and looking for browser support for a while, but so far nothing yet.
@JamieCropley@brave And yes, you're correct. Unpinning just hides the icon, but the extension remains active, as well as its memory and CPU consumption.
I get the "usefulness" of unpinning extensions that don't really need a popup menu there, but the implementation itself is misleading.

When you have too many extensions or profiles and exceed Google's quota for sync storage, they'll be saved to your local browser instead, automatically.
