No. 1 on our list of the most underwhelming results of recent civic projects is Block 37. We had hoped that especially with the inclusion of an AMC that there would be a marquee or video display worthy of this prime section of State but alas no @sitedesigngroup @ChiLoopAlliance
When the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce drafted its master plan in 2012, one of its priorities was developing the underutilized path along the city’s “L” tracks between the Southport and Paulina stations on the Brown Line. https://t.co/2fwslGPLUm
No. 2 is a recent event which fell a bit short in measuring up to the spirit of Chicago
Yes, we're past nye 2020 but the Riverwalk fireworks show is still a fresh memory. A fabulous idea that fell short in music, a countdown & duration to fully engage the non-navy Pier crowd
No. 3 on our list of public offerings coming up short of Chi-excellence over the last decade or so:
Thank goodness at least the Edgewater apts weren't lost to the wrecking ball like the Resort. The weather notwithstanding why not reclaim it again with expanded beachfront area?
DPD's central area planners will host a community meeting next Wednesday about the department's plans to use the @c40cities Reinventing Cities competition to market a site for sale in the heart of The Loop. Learn more and RSVP at https://t.co/kzs41Y2hAX.
Fred Hampton mural in East Garfield/Near West Side. Another week of talking about CBA's #APeoplesHistoryofChicago Map, #bikechi to 102 locations from @kevincoval 's poetry history. https://t.co/VSJNYx74FJ

No. 5 on our list of subpar public interactions over the last decade or so:
Motor Row on South Michigan. Assuming that this exists as a work in progress, still the full potential of what this district can be remains untapped. @Pres_Chicago@Chicago_History@chicagodetours
@JCphoto2 I know and I remember their response to the blowback; it was, "Yeah, but this way we can feature the structural look behind it" To see that level of cluelessness and tone death as an exec was smh at best and wtf moment at worst.
No. 6 on our list of underwhelming public interactions over the last decade or so:
Great idea poorly executed and doomed from the start was CBS Morningstar's streetside studio (too dark & behind thick glass) and facade video which was too small & ran infrequently
@chicagodetours@Pres_Chicago@Chicago_History I believe so but not sure if that will encompass 22nd to 25th Michigan which defines Motor Row. I was thinking the Square as more around Wintrust. But an iconic use of one these beautiful historic bldgs (vintage auto museum?) would be a good start
