Year 6 had an exciting first Computing lesson using the Delightex 'Playground' to design their own 3D virtual environments! Pupils experimented with the software to learn how to add, resize, rotate and animate characters and objects.

Yesterday, Year 1 launched their new Science topic all about Plants! The children enjoyed working in small groups to carefully dissect and label the parts of a real flower, getting hands-on with petals, stems, and leaves.

π¨β¨ Mosaic Magic in Reception! β¨π¨
Reception had a wonderful afternoon taking part in a mosaic workshop led by local artist Sarah Delgado Barter, who specialises in beautiful mosaic creations. The children were fully engaged, showing fantastic creativity.

Our Nursery children have had so much fun exploring their newly updated outdoor space since Easter! From climbing and imaginative play to sensory exploration, itβs been a joy to see their excitement and confidence grow each day. ππΌπ§ββοΈ
What an energetic and inspiring day weβve had for our PE Enrichment Day! Every year group took part in a contemporary dance workshop, exploring how movement, facial expressions, and body language can be used to express different emotions.

Today in their music session, Year 3 continued to shine in their clarinet lessons with Mrs Blaylock! They learned a brand-new song and showed great focus as they played and sang the different parts with enthusiasm.

Last week the whole school celebrated World Book Day with lots of exciting reading related activities. Here are year 1 dressed in their fantastic book character costumes. There will be more photos to follow of some of the other activities that went on in school last week.
Our year 4 children recently went on a trip to Norwich Castle for a Roman experience day. They had a fantastic, hands on experience that brought their topic to life looking at and handling real Roman artefacts.
Our whole school took part in performing arts enrichment sessions today. There was a World Book Day theme. The children explored different characters from some of their favourite books and then learnt some of the dance to the song βRevolting Childrenβ from Matilda.
We are very fortunate in our school to benefit from several different calming sensory spaces and nurture rooms for our children. It is lovely to have these additional spaces for children when they need a little break from their classroom.
Years 5 and 6 had a dementia talk with Hartismere Place this afternoon. They are now 'Dementia Friends' with the Alzheimer's Society. It was really interesting for them to learn about dementia and how to support people with dementia.
It has been lovely to have our beautiful Forest School site back open today after a short break. Our year 1 children enjoyed their session this afternoon. They spotted some early signs of spring and they did a scavenger hunt!
Reception went for a visit to Eye Castle. They walked sensibly along the pavements looking at the map and pictures that showed what the castle looked like 900 years ago. They touched the old walls and played and raced around the grassy area that used to be part of the old bailey.
Nursery have been busy baking bread this week. The children have been learning about the story of the 'Little Red Hen'. They have been talking about different types of bread and looking at books and photographs of people all over the world and the different bread that they eat.
Year 4 learnt about teeth in their science lessons! They observed their own teeth and also those of different animals including a seal, hyena, horse and rabbit. They looked at the different shapes of teeth and their function and made comparisons between the different animals.
Our Year 3 and 4 children are all learning to play the clarinet. We do whole class musical instrument lessons. It is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about reading music, playing an instrument and playing with other people.
The children have been enjoying the sunshine in our school grounds over the past couple of days and we have noticed some signs of spring. We feel very fortunate to have such wonderful school grounds with different places for the children to play!
