From Biafra Soldier to IBM Scientist:
Meet the mind behind the tech inside your device.👨💻
From surviving the Biafran War to becoming an IBM scientist with more than 400 U.S. utility patents, Dr. Cyprian Emeka Uzoh shares the remarkable journey behind one of the most important engineering breakthroughs most people have never heard of.
During his time at IBM, Dr. Uzoh pioneered the critical electroplating process that allowed copper to replace aluminum in microchips, a breakthrough that fundamentally modernized global semiconductor manufacturing and paved the way for faster, modern computing.
An absolute titan in STEM. 👏
🚨 BREAKING:
World-famous singer Rihanna:
"When I said 'Free Palestine,' I was told, 'Stay neutral, you'll lose your Israeli listeners.' My goal was specifically to remind Israeli listeners of Palestinian freedom and make them feel uncomfortable."
This archival video depicts Ojukwu, Zik and Enahoro at the “political solution” summit between Nigeria and Biafra in Ethiopia in 1968. I posted it to underscore the abiding imperative of political solution to every political conflict.
It is noteworthy that it was Nigeria that had initiated this 1968 dialogue, but it thereafter pedaled back to renege on it, just like it did with #Aburi. Why? Because Nigeria was more interested in annihilating Biafra than coming to terms with. And in doing so, more precious lives were lost. Is it any different today?
So, the lesson learned is this: Agitating for a separate State is a political issue, not a legal or judicial issue. Thus, it can never be resolved by resorting to persecutions that masquarade as prosecutions, or even by some military conquest. Instead, what is required is to come to terms with it.
Otherwise, it turns to a festering sore that persists until the government of the day does the right thing by pivoting to the reality of constructive engagement. That time is now, but it lies entirely with the government to make that choice.
While Israel continues its genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and persists with imposing its unlawful occupation and system of apartheid against Palestinians, PM Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity, is set to address the UN General Assembly in New York instead of standing trial at The Hague.
It is doubly shameful that the US government continues to ignore the arrest warrant against Netanyahu - while denying Palestinian representatives visas to attend the UNGA.
Nearly two years since the ICC issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu, impunity continues to reign - and Palestinians are paying the price. Continuing to undermine the ICC sends a cruel message to all victims of international crimes that prospects for justice remain elusive while the USA and other powerful states deliberately erode the universal value of international law.
All states, including the USA, should enforce the Court’s arrest warrants and hand over Netanyahu to the ICC. International law must be upheld and international justice mechanisms supported to end impunity for international crimes and ensure respect for human rights for all.
Members of former prime minister Imran Khan's family, including his three sisters, as well as activists from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been arbitrarily detained.
The targeting of his family and PTI party activists is a flagrant violation of their rights to liberty, freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly. Such actions speak to the severity of the current restrictions in Pakistan.
Amnesty International calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately release Imran Khan’s relatives and PTI workers, who have been targeted simply for their familial ties, political affiliation and plans to protest.
BREAKING‼️I am not interested in being president of Nigeria. I won’t go into politics, it’s too dirty. Nigerians also don’t like intelligent people like me. But I’m willing to serve my country in my own capacity..

A plain clothes agent fired tear gas outside her school, later another pulled her hair so hard that her yanked out hair was stuck inside her headscarf, which she realized when she arrived home.
"After that day, I didn't feel normal and didn't go to school anymore" says Niaz Akh, a child protester.
Niaz and her family had to flee Iran. "Every day I count the moments until the day that I will be able to return to my city".

As the Israel team travels to Europe where they will play against Austria, Ireland and Kosovo between 24 September - 6 October, Palestinian families are being displaced and dispossessed, their land stolen, their olive trees uprooted, and their histories erased by settlers with the support of the Israeli military. The beautiful game should bring people together, not rubber-stamp apartheid.
It’s unconscionable that the Israel men’s football team will participate in the UEFA Nations League this autumn despite clear evidence that Israel’s football association continues to support illegal settlements.
Sport should never be used as a public relations spectacle for states committing atrocities. When rules are broken, when occupation, apartheid and genocide are ongoing, we cannot look the other way.
