@BTOofficial@aeonalloy@Ekitiketekan Commendable move. Partnerships like this are important for improving security and strengthening our institutions. Wishing the team success as these agreements translate into real benefits for Nigerians.
Following our productive meeting in Abuja with the Polish delegation led by His Excellency Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, I was in Warsaw, Poland for high-level discussions with my counterpart, the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Marcin Kierwiński.
Our meetings focused on advancing strategic collaboration in internal security and civil protection. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to enhancing border security through improved border management, intelligence sharing, and the fight against transnational crime.
We also agreed to strengthen fire and rescue services by exchanging expertise, training, and best practices to bolster our emergency response capabilities. In addition, we committed to building resilience in civil defence and critical asset protection to safeguard key national infrastructure and public facilities.
A major outcome of the visit is the agreement to establish a Technical Working Group that will develop a comprehensive cooperation framework, identify priority areas of partnership, set implementation timelines, and propose mechanisms for sustained collaboration.
We also underscored the importance of correctional reforms and human rights, ensuring that our cooperation is guided by international standards and the rule of law.
I was accompanied on this strategic visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani; the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap; Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi; Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Samuel; and Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche.
In line with the renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, this partnership demonstrates our determination to adopt global best practices that will ultimately deliver better security and safety for Nigerians.
