Don’t underestimate the dangers of the mountains in winter. They’re so close and so dangerous if you’re unprepared. @happiestoutdoor and @lithohedron collab on this exceptional winter safety piece.
Last week we went rafting with our friends from Tu’Wusht and the Native Health Elders group. Don’t worry! It wasn’t that kind of rafting trip. It was a wonderful float down a calm and stunningly beautiful section of the Cheakamus River in the ... https://t.co/XDlBdkC21K
We saw some goldeneyes on our rafting trip today. They weren’t dancing for us but they’re still so great! Also eagles, herons, red-tailed hawke and American dippers.
@_andy_gibb_ Holy moly those Lynx!! One of our scariest camping incidents was because of an owl. It was absolutely terrifying. Still have no idea what kind owl it was that treated us that way.
Please share: Due to cold weather, Powell Street Getaway will be open as a warming centre tonight, along with EWRs across #Vancouver. We appreciate your help sharing this information with those who may need it. For details, see tables below:
📷 We’ve been to so many incredible places this year. From the mountains to the valleys, through forests and along rivers and lakes. Thanks to all of you who have made these trips possible for us. We’ve been taking our participants to the very... https://t.co/DOw7gl5GMU
📷 Here’s a little peekaboo at some of the spectacular fall fun that we’ve been having. We guarantee you that we love this season more than everyone else. And we have a zillion pictures of tiny mushrooms and frogs and changing leaves to prove... https://t.co/9uzONHoU0v
📷 Fall is our favourite time of the year, especially here in our temperate rainforest where the cycles of life and death are so abundant. Mushrooms popping up everywhere we look, and dying down to smush just as quickly. The maples, cottonwood... https://t.co/UbawlqEMQl
📷 Look at all that fun! You have to be brave to be able to do a thing like this one. Water scares people. A lot of them. It’s a strong would-I-maybe-not-survive kind of feeling. We haven’t done a lot of water activities in past years because... https://t.co/ZviMSbfODK
📷 Look at all those happy hands. We’ve learned so much from each other over the years about ways to care for ourselves through the gifts of nature. From skin care to wild teas, eco-dyeing and natural pigment making, rockhounding and... https://t.co/snsg5kEdbH

Six bears have been killed by conservation officers in Port Coquitlam in six days. The officers involved say they had no choice. @JonVHernandez has more.
@Stasher_BC@TreadLightly_RE @ESB_FI So frustrating that coffee suppliers aren’t getting with the times and switching their packaging. In Vancouver we have @PistolandBurnes. Or if you buy straight from a coffee shop you can bring your own bag.
@josyishere We were still in the vehicle actually. It was on the road in and it ran across right in front of us. They are so amazing! Those long legs of theirs 😻
Throwback to one of last fall’s hikes in Chilliwack. We saw a bobcat on this trip! We also totally froze at the lake even though we brought enough layers to warm a small town. There was an icy wind swirling up in those mountains. We renamed ... https://t.co/BMtLlMtxTA
