Meet Mr. Peter Karanja, a long-serving member of the Kenya Red Cross Society since 1974.
Despite being based in Rwanda, his dedication brought him back home to mark the #WorldRedCrossDay at our Huruma Evacuation Camp, housing families affected by the floods.
In a heartwarming gesture, he generously donated essential food items to help support the families affected by the crisis.
Peter Karanja's story truly highlights the power of compassion and the global reach of humanitarian efforts. His selflessness serves as an inspiration to us all.
Inspiring day with @KenyaRedCross staff & volunteers in Elgeyo Marakwet & Transnzoia Branches. An excellent reminder that everyday volunteers are working with communities to reduce vulnerability to risks and support populations in need.
Last evening, @KenyaRedCross received 40 evacuees fleeing from #Sudan after undertaking perilous journeys to escape the #SudanCrisis. Out of the 40 evacuees, thirty-one were Kenyans, two Burundians, four Sudanese and three Somalis received at #JKIA.
We supported them with psychosocial support services, food and refreshments and a lastly a phone call to contact their relatives.
World #RedCross and #RedCrescent Day is a time to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism and recognize the individuals who make a difference in their communities.
This year, our theme is: Everything we do comes #fromtheheart

Volunteers are the backbone of happy, healthy and connected communities. Without them, many organisations simply wouldn’t be able to do the important work they do.we appreciate & recognize volunteers around the world for their services.

Despite hail and rain, our volunteers and other agencies continue to save lives.
Earlier today, one person was rescued and evacuated from the Kasarani Collapsed Building Incident and taken to KNH.

The #drought still rages in all 23 arid counties with most households barely able to put one meal on the table.
Sec-Gen Dr @AshaMohammed_ led yesterday’s food distribution in Lomoputh and Kagiteitei villages in Kangatotha Ward, #Turkana.

73 years of the #GenevaConventions and counting.
We know their impact isn't always visible.
But every time people are led to safety, aid reaches the frontlines, or wounded are cared for, we see them in action 🔽
In collaboration with @ICRC_Africa, Kenya Redcross conducted a dissemination session to 50 youths from korokocho informal settlement with the aim to disseminate them on the Redcross and Redcrescent movement.
