Today, I had an interesting conversation with a friend of mine who has been in business for a while and is a VC-picker maxi.
Him: "VCs always compete only on picking winners!"

BS.

They often can collude on killing losers. It’s a game with impact. You may not like it, but it won’t change the game.

Funds can, and often will, coordinate to block intros, slow-roll legal, or drop negative DD notes just to suffocate a round they don’t want priced in the market.

Don’t fool yourself. Do you think insiders and VCs won’t back side-projects too on their private side? At the end of the day, VCs are run by people. One part is creating returns for LPs. The other is maximizing their pockets. Guess which one often wins.

Free market capitalism? Think twice and don’t get fooled.
