🚨 BREAKING: Barcelona will NOT pay €30m buy option clause for Marcus Rashford, expiring in 5 days.
Rashford formally set to return to Man United but Barça remain open to new solutions, like another loan deal. ❗️
Barça are open to discuss again if #MUFC open doors. 🔵🔴
🚨⚠️ OFFICIAL: Manchester City statement.
“The stories which have emerged from Spain regarding the future of Erling Haaland are FALSE”.
“There is NO chance of this happening and there is no contractual clause to enable it”.
“We are considering LEGAL ACTION for the use of our player image in this context”.
Manchester City are considering legal action after Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme claimed he will sign Erling Haaland if he wins the upcoming elections.
Riquelme, a 37-year-old renewable energy entrepreneur, announced on Wednesday evening that the Norway international would be his star signing should he oust longtime incumbent Florentino Perez.

David Ornstein has built more credibility and legacy in football journalism than Fabrizio Romano, and it’s not even close.
Romano is brilliant for speed and updates, but Ornstein is the one clubs, executives and journalists trust when it comes to accuracy and breaking the biggest stories.
When Ornstein speaks, people treat it as confirmation. When Romano speaks, people often wait for Ornstein to confirm it.
🚨 Marcus Rashford still prioritizes staying at Barça.
Despite Anthony Gordon’s arrival, Rashford has not given up on the club activating his €30m buy option.
He wants to continue under Hansi Flick, feels happy in the dressing room and does not want to return to Manchester United.

Most fans are missing the point: Rashford’s issue isn’t just transfer fee, it’s wages. Even with a pay cut, Barça would be carrying a huge salary for a player who profiles more like a squad option than a key starter.
Transfer fees get spread across contract years, but wages hit hard every season. So a €70m younger player on a 5-year deal can be more financially sensible than a “cheap” Rashford if Rashford stays on elite-level wages.
Barça have spent years fixing a broken wage structure. They should not undo that by paying Rashford anywhere near top-player money. If he wants to stay, he needs a serious wage cut.
Sportingly, Gordon makes more sense: younger, intense presser, direct runner, and a better fit for Flick’s system. Barça already have creators like Lamine, Pedri, Olmo, and Fermín. The opposite winger should attack space, not duplicate Lamine’s role.
Bottom line: stop judging names and transfer fees. Judge total cost, wage structure, tactical profile, and system fit. Deco and Flick are thinking profiles, not hype.
There’s a reason behind the interest in Gordon, in my opinion, and it ties directly to the pursuit of Álvarez. I think I’m starting to understand Flick’s attacking philosophy.
Maybe Flick isn’t looking for a pure poacher or a traditional No. 9 whose only role is finishing chances inside the box.
Instead, it feels like he wants attacking pressing machines, players who can produce goals and assists, press aggressively, contribute defensively, and thrive in transitions.
That’s exactly what both Anthony Gordon and Julián Álvarez bring to the table. So Álvarez’s goal numbers at Atlético might not be a major concern for Flick, because the idea could be to build a front three that creates and scores collectively rather than relying on one focal point.
