President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva joined Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, First Lady Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva and family members on a tour of Bukhara’s historic landmarks.

The programme included the Ark Fortress, once the seat of Bukhara’s rulers; the Po-i-Kalyan complex, home to the 1127 Kalyan Minaret; and the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, one of Central Asia’s oldest surviving monuments of Islamic architecture.

The Kalyan Minaret also carries one of Bukhara’s best-known legends: that Genghis Khan spared it after its height forced him to bow while retrieving his fallen headwear.

From political power to religion and architecture, the stops trace different layers of a city shaped by centuries of history.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a Treaty on Eternal Friendship in Tashkent, while setting a $1 billion trade target and discussing more than $5 billion in joint investment projects.

Transport and regional connectivity were also high on the agenda, including the Zangezur Corridor and plans for expanded Caspian shipping cooperation.

Minval Politika has released additional footage it says further details the alleged networks behind the Ocampo case.

The outlet says the material includes remarks attributed to former ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo about funding linked to Armenian and Russian-Armenian sources.

In the footage, Ocampo allegedly refers to ‘rich Armenians’, ‘Russian-Armenians’ creating a fund, and money from an ‘Armenian from Russia’.

Minval Politika says the material also refers to social media campaigns, international legal proceedings and work initially carried out pro bono.

The outlet argues the alleged activities may extend beyond Azerbaijan and raise questions over possible influence on Armenia’s internal political landscape.
