More than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA’s core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors.
I'm on the ground in Augusta, Georgia today and visiting our @FEMA disaster recovery center, where our teams are helping people jumpstart their recovery following Hurricane #Helene. I encourage people in the impacted and declared areas to visit them for support!
We are working with @SBAgov to provide a variety of support for #Helene & #Milton survivors. Yesterday, FEMA Associate Administrator Justin Knighten & SBA Associate Administrator Han Nguyen visited areas in South Carolina where both agencies are meeting with & helping survivors.
I'm in Asheville with @NC_Governor to check on recovery efforts and to make sure survivors get support at our community comfort stations and @fema disaster recovery centers. Our new community liaisons will also make sure the needs of the community are met throughout the recovery.
Right now, @FEMA_Deanne is in Hendersonville to meet with survivors from Hurricane #Helene and make sure they are getting support at our Disaster Recovery Center. @fema is here to help people register for assistance at several locations in the impacted counties.
.@NC_Governor: "When you are making people believe that help is not coming, often they can turn to scam artists. We're working very hard with FEMA...to make sure people have everything they need. And its critical - critical - that the people of Western NC hear the truth"
