It's a red flag warning day, please be mindful of any activities that can cause sparks or fire as conditions are prime for a fire to start and spread quickly.
Low relative humidity and high winds make for perfect conditions for a fire to occur and spread rapidly.
Throughout the day winds will be between 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and relative humidity as low as 8º

A Red Flag Warning is in effect today from 10 AM to 6 PM AND a Fire Weather Watch is also in effect from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Crews have already responded to one fire today in the median between East and West Highway 119 at WCR 5.5.

Crews arrived and put out the fire before it could spread, but this is a critical reminder that our extremely dry winter and high winds are perfect conditions for a fire to start and spread.

The Carbon Valley is under a Red Flag Warning today from 7:30 AM to 5 PM. West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, isolated gusts to 45 mph possible. Humidity 10 to 15%. Extremely dry conditions mean critical fire weather; please avoid any high fire danger activities.
