BTW: I know some of you think the killing may be related to the UnitedHealth Group insider trading investigation.
Stop. Nobody hires a hit man over insider trading. It would be like having a fender-bender and then running over the other driver rather than exchanging insurance.
Trump still has the sauce. No one else could have made picks like these. Every selection is like drafting a kicker in the first round but the kicker has a Wikipedia section titled Allegations and is also not really a kicker
I don't think anyone can argue that Matt Gaetz has ever constructively sought to make a single influential businessperson or corporation annoyed or distracted.
Which is to say that amicus briefs are easy to file when your seat and funding are secured.
Matt Gaetz wrote an amicus brief supporting the FTC’s noncompete ban. He’s a genuine populist on antitrust, arbitration agreements, and corporate power.
A reminder that Jack Dorsey no longer owns the good place and is encouraging people to stay here. Yall know what to do. Same handle. https://t.co/T1VrwBS8qe
Kamala was never brat. Kamala was always Claudine Gay, and I mean that in both the most charitable sense and the sense that she's an empty vessel of unfocused ambition with no apparent original thoughts, not that any of this was ever about her anyway https://t.co/oHZvPN6iXF
I just learned about the death of Jim Ledbetter. Jim was my editor at Fortune magazine. He was a fine editor, alternately demanding and encouraging in the same sentence. More importantly, however, he was an incredibly warm, funny and caring man. His death is a true loss.
1/N @StockJabber accusing @NateHindenburg of plagiarism on $RBLX stock is north of absurd, pure and simple. The fact that @HindenburgRes also referenced some PACER/Westlaw-accessible filings isn't a problem. Just read their report -- it's clearly different.
4/N Short activism isn't AT ALL for me, and I'm glad to have returned to journalism. Looking back, I wish I never left. (Needed $ b/c I had tuition, big family $ medical bills.)
Just surreal that Edwin is doing this. Totally unserious.
3/N I can say this because I worked at Hindenburg. Nate and his colleagues are relentless in their desire to do accurate and fully supported work. It was an exhausting process, but I respected it because it's what I did @ffj

One of the most consequential series of investigative journalism of this decade was the @Propublica series that @eisingerj helmed, in which Eisinger and colleagues analyzed a trove of leaked IRS tax returns for the richest people in America:

Here's Raytheon getting charges with -- count 'em -- four crimes!
For arms trafficking, bribery and defrauding the government.
And...
No one goes to prison.

Observation: No US official or politician experiences significant public friction supporting Israeli military action against Arabs.
At least in part, that's because there are ~about 7.5mm US Jews and 3.2mm of Arab heritage. I wonder if larger Arab demo numbers change that?
NEW: @BrettMmurphy has a big scoop:
2 govt bodies determined that Israel had deliberately blocked humanitarian aid.
Days later, Blinken told Congress: “We do not currently assess that the Israeli government is prohibiting or otherwise restricting” aid.
