You are reading about People Living BETTER With Dementia, due to team spirit around Nottingham. They now attempt to live fuller lives and not shrink away, but involve themselves in all matters of things, and gladly thinking of others in our group of Friends For Life (Nottm).
How much do you really know about dementia?
It’s the UK’s biggest killer - but our research tells us that people don’t actually know that much about it.
We headed to the streets to test that theory and bring some conversations about dementia out from behind closed doors.
Great news ...
Our Dementia Drop In, funded by @TNLComFund, will continue to meet at Kings Court Community Centre in #Southwell.
These sessions provide space for people affected by #dementia to meet and chat. Anyone affected by #dementia is welcome.
Worrying that acceptance of a significant change. Does not meet with more opposition. I for one cannot afford to lose this benefit, I would be forced to sell my house. With all the other price increases, my savings have been depleted to survive nondrinker/nonsmoker/stay in.
If the Government stop Council Tax Single Occupancy Discount, over 250,000 Dementia families will lose out on over £500 per year. https://t.co/FUGr9M6HHC
Another step closer, perhaps I will live to see a successful treatment introduced. What are your thoughts? 🤔 I wished it was 2011, and I had a better chance of beating it or keeping more of my brain alive to combat my moods and depression at bay. Forgetting is bearable.
A child or grandchild seldom understand why their parent/grand parent; who someone who was so strong a character is dwindling away and just staring out the window, saying nothing. They need to be told they are still loved everyday in our dreams. The ability to say it is stolen.

Nice one George, keep telling them, until we get Governmental support. So we can appreciate being alive. Not dying many times, as Alzheimer's Soc. suggests.
Its our DSIG and we are listening to @george_rook speak about his experience of living with dementia and all the wonderful work that he has and is continuing to do #TuesdayFeeling#Dementia #
Did you know over 900,000 people in the UK are living with dementia?

🗣️ This winter, matters will get worse rather than better if the Government does not take urgent steps to address hardship.
The autumn budget must deliver an urgent plan for hardship.

Maggi says hello to everyone in FFL (Nottm) she told me off for spelling her the English way, she & Brian wish you all well. Saturday at short mat bowls. This is the second time Maggi has donated, she is a wonderful person.
Hi from Larnaca (Cyprus) where I managed to get another donation into our funds. We played sort- mat bowls outside was like an oven, many of our old friends were there and Maggie from Scotland gladly supported our (Nottm) "Ay'e up mi duck" 🦆Hope today's meeting went well, Steve
Sometimes I think I must be wearing a mask. The reactions I receive are strange in my eyes. Sometimes the delay in talking to me and the distant looks I get, are disconcerting. Does anyone else feel this way when living with Dementia?? Maybe it's getting worse, confusing me!
Can I support these positive thoughts, diagnosed 2011 seems an eternity away, NHS support was better than now. Why? It would be much better if individuals & peer support groups lead the needs of People Living with Dementia. Only those with diagnosis know their needs B4 too late.
At last a positive take on dementia , now lets have funding to enable people to remain socially connected .we work hard to enable this but need funding to do it @2getherDementia@AndyBurnhamGM 👏❤️

Tesco's Thomas who is like a support worker for those challenged like me to complete the fundraising app's. It took over 2 hrs 30mins. Hope we didn't miss anything. One day there will be an easier way to provide support for People Living with Dementia, rather than cap in hand.
