Blake Corum has a TD in each of his last 3 games. He had 45 of those in his last two years at Michigan.
McCay has figured out Blake Corum is a weapon in the red zone in Y3, just like Harbaugh figured that out in Corum’s junior year at Michigan.
I’m going say this once and then move on. Vikings GM Nolan Teasley and Head Coach Kevin O’Connell buried JJ McCarthy in the depth chart and ultimately traded him largely because of memes. I know what you’re thinking, there’s no way the leaders inside the org evaluating the players would make decisions based on the noise. I think that’s normally true, but in this case, the way JJ was being portrayed in the media affected their decision. They didn’t want to hitch their own careers to a guy that was being dragged through the mud publicly. The fact is JJ showed flashes of brilliance and steady progress in his first 10 starts. No other 1st round QB would’ve been abandoned under these circumstances. Now the Vikings have the 32nd ranked offense in the NFL because their leaders are cowards and hypocrites. I don’t know if JJ will pan out in the NFL but I do know what he’s made of and his ceiling is higher than most people realize. I’m hoping that John Harbaugh can provide the steady leadership JJ needs to realize his full potential.
Remember how JJ McCarthy was beating Kyler in training camp and they instantly ended the competition and released pro-Kyler propaganda through Seifert and Lewis?
JJ McCarthy’s first 3 NFL games (2025): 57.6% completions, 444 pass yards, 62 rush yards, 6 total TD
Kyler/Wentz first 3 games (2026): 56.1% completions, 427 pass yards, 28 run yards, 4 total TD
