Our GPs are being stretched to the limit. Demand for GP services is increasing, but since 2015, NHSE has 1,557 fewer full-time fully qualified GPs.
It's a vicious cycle: unsustainable workloads force GPs to leave the profession, piling on the pressure on remaining staff. This strain accelerates burnout, plunging the workforce into an even deeper crisis.
A huge thank you to Dr Saket Priyadarshi for his fantastic Fulton Lecture yesterday! It was a great turnout for this thought-provoking talk and discussion.
Congratulations once again to our new fellows and this years winners of the James Scobbie and James Murray awards.
