@nwparksforum Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to our friend and fellow campaigner, Chrisie Byrne. She has left an enormous legacy in her work with Fields in Trust, Ian Byrne MP, LPFF, Friends groups throughout the North West and her beloved Wally Hall Park. She will be greatly missed๐
Absolutely gutted to hear of the passing of my great mate Chrissie Byrne. A wonderful fighter for the parks community and her beloved @wallyhallpark
An absolute honour to work with her on protecting our cities parks with @FieldsInTrust
Rest in Power my dear friend ๐
In fact we enjoy a very good long-standing relationship with the council and liaise with them on lots of park matters. While it is always nice to have our work acknowledged we are never pleased to see our name or work being used to make party political points.
A campaign leaflet has recently gone out to residents mentioning our group and suggesting that we have been let down by Liverpool City Council. We'd like to point out that we had no prior knowledge of this article and that the opinion expressed in it is not our own.
An important message to all our supporters and park users. The Friends of Greenbank Park is run by volunteers from the community for the community. We pride ourselves in keeping out of any party politics.
Well done Minna! Lets hope Compost Works has many more boxes built and you encourage more people to be trained. Less waste to landfill is definitely a winner for us all @EmilyJBethell@wallyhallpark@RobertaPeak2 @MikeBrown_LSSL
Our local parks boost air quality, provide habitats and mitigate the effects of climate change. Yet only 6.4% of Britain's parks are legally protected. It's not too late, but we must act to protect green spaces now before their benefits are lost forever.
Every park in Liverpool will be protected forever as part of a commitment made today by @lpoolcouncil. Their first-of-its-kind vision will ensure current and future generations of Liverpudlians will always enjoy the benefits local green spaces provide. #GreenSpacesForGood
