S2 Computing Science pupils are thinking about physical computing devices and listing all of things they’ve seen with embedded computers in their homes and while travelling.
FHS held a fantastic starters and plenaries CLPL for staff. Last week I included a question asking S3 pupils to tell me something fun they were planning for the weekend. Looking forward to chatting with them this week about what they did! Thanks @MissStroudMusic
As part of refreshers week S3 are taking part in a group task brushing up on their knowledge of keyboard shortcuts. We have 5 different stations in the room, each with a different task. The challenge is to complete the task using only the keyboard. 3C are nailing it so far!
@FHSComputing@FalkirkHigh Hopefully everyone that was at the session will remember that, with stick insects, the female is usually quite a bit bigger than the male. She often has to carry him around so this seems entirely fair. 🤣
Well done everyone! Brodie in 1CL1 was Mrs Alexander-Doyle's nomination for this month for the enthusiasm he showed when designing and creating his own computer game. 🖥🎮
Congratulations to everyone that was nominated by their maths & computing teacher as Pupil of the Month for May🙌
All nominations are on the noticeboard outside S46. The winner of the lucky draw Amazon voucher was Billie Ryan🏆

Bored on a Sunday morning? Make an animation of the fetch-execute cycle on PowerPoint in preparation for your new Higher Computing Science class starting tomorrow.😆
Booking for @eSgoil Easter Study Support is now open. This includes National 5 & Higher Computing Science. Below is my plan for the three sessions.
The Computer Systems content covered in Session 1 & Session 2 will be the same.
Our S3 WA class were treated to a a visit from F. Gilchrist today. He brought along some Egyptian tortoises. This species is functionally extinct in Egypt, but has a lifeline due to the efforts of people like Fraser. What a superb way for pupils to learn about endangered species!
