The Spurs just got De'Aaron Fox without giving up any of their eight most-used players, any of their Hawks picks or their 2031 Kings swap.
Like, sure, I have some misgivings about the fit of their current team. But who cares? That's bonkers value.
I don't think people grasp just how well the Spurs are still set up.
They have their second star now. And they still have basically EVERYTHING else. All of their youth, cap flexibility and most of their picks.
Literally every team-building path is still available to them.
Billy, this is Luka Doncic. He is a top 5 player in the NBA and can be an all time great. His defect is that he gets a little chunky sometimes. This guy should cost us our entire roster and 10 firsts, but we can get him for just Anthony Davis.
Luka Doncic has played in 50 playoff games in his career and has averaged:
30.9 points,
9.4 rebounds, and
8.0 assists
Averaged.
He's the only player in NBA history to average 30+ points, 9+ boards and 8+ assists over his first 50 postseason games.
Forget NBA, this has to be one of the most stunning trades in North American Sports history.
No rumors. No whispers. The face of the franchise shipped off just like that?!
Gotta be more to this story. Truly shocking.
And I feel so very sorry for Mavs fan. How do you come to terms with this?!
