Global sawlog prices forecast to keep rising in 2018.
The Wood Resource Quarterly reports that the Global Sawlog Price Index (GSPI) rose by 5.1% between Q2 2017 and Q3 2017.

China is set to increase its imports of pulp for a seventh consecutive year. Volumes almost doubled from 2010 to 2016. From January to October 2017, pulp imports were 13% higher than in the same period in 2016.

British sawmills increased production by 5% in 2016 to £3.6 million m3. The increase was largely driven by sawmills in Scotland and England, however Wales, a smaller producer of lumber, increased production by 13%.
