This afternoon in Marble Hill, a New Yorker was shot by an ICE agent in a residential neighborhood. Early reports indicate agents surrounded him and a 5-year-old child in his car before firing multiple rounds. We believe the child was physically unharmed.
This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation. I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city. I will not stand by while ICE agents terrorize our communities.
Our thoughts are with the injured New Yorker and his family tonight. We are praying for his recovery.
Get ICE out of our neighborhoods. Get ICE out of our hospitals. Get ICE off our streets. Get ICE away from our children.
Abolish ICE.
Within AMC's refinancing docs: cash dividends are NOT prohibited. All 3 major debt agreements allow Restricted Payment exceptions, with the tightest basket permitting up to $50M if no Event of Default exists. No dividend is guaranteed, but the door is OPEN. $AMC Over Noise ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฌ

๐จ๐จ๐จ DIVIDEND TALK
Iโm seeing a lot of discussion about whether AMC can pay a dividend after completing its new refinancing.
The answer is YES โ but there is a limit.
Under the new financing agreement, AMC can use up to $50 million for certain payments to shareholders, including dividends, over the life of the loan, subject to the terms of the agreement.
So letโs do some very simple math.
AMCโs latest reported share count:
If AMC declared a $0.05 dividend for every share:
892,604,638 ร $0.05 = $44,630,231.90
So AMC would need approximately $44.63 million to pay everyone their 5 cents.
That would use almost 90% of the $50 million limit.
In other words, at todayโs share count, a 5-cent dividend would basically be a one-time event under that $50 million limit.
๐จ NOW HEREโS THE INTERESTING PARTโฆ
There has obviously been a lot of debate for years about whether AMC has naked or synthetic shares floating around.
Iโm not saying they exist.
But IF they do, hereโs why a cash dividend gets interesting.
AMC is responsible for paying the dividend on its actual shares.
So AMC puts up approximately:
$44.63 MILLION.
But imagine there are people expecting dividend payments on more shares than AMC actually issued because of shorting or synthetic positions.
Someone still has to come up with that money.
AMC doesnโt suddenly pay another $50M, $100M or $200M.
The financial system and the parties responsible for those additional positions have to sort out those additional payment obligations.
Thatโs why a cash dividend could be interesting.
Does a 5-cent dividend automatically expose naked shorts?
NO.
Normal, legal short selling can also create additional dividend-payment obligations.
But if there really is a massive number of synthetic AMC shares like some shareholders believeโฆ
5 cents suddenly becomes a lot more interesting than 5 cents. ๐ค
