Heartbreaking scenes from Beerwah, where flash floods have swept away shops and a bridge along the Sukhnag stream. Prayers for everyone affected there and across other parts of J&K.

Requesting @CM_JnK to closely monitor the situation, ensure immediate relief, conduct a swift assessment of losses, and provide timely compensation to affected families and shopkeepers.

May Allah (SWT) protect everyone and grant strength to those facing these difficult times. 🤲

Srinagar is struggling after just a few hours of rain. We saw it yesterday & we are seeing it again today. Water has entered homes, shops, roads & even hospitals. In Habakadal alone, around 10-15 vehicles have already been badly damaged as floodwater quickly submerged the area.

If a few hours of rainfall can bring the city to a standstill because of poor drainage, one can only imagine what will happen if the water level in the Jhelum & other water bodies rises. With rain forecast for the coming days, the situation is becoming increasingly worrying.

Long-term projects like the STPI drainage network are important, but they will not solve today’s crisis. Srinagar needs immediate action alongside long-term planning. Emergency measures such as deploying high-capacity dewatering pumps, desilting drains & clearing major choke points must begin without delay.

I urge the @CM_JnK & the Commissioner @SMC_Srinagar , to treat this as an emergency. Bring in engineers, consult experts & act now. Every hour matters. Identify all waterlogging hotspots of Srinagar & classify them as Red, Orange, and Green. Implement immediate solutions for every Red Zone & deploy dewatering pumps at these critical locations for the entire week, with rapid-response teams ready for immediate activation whenever water levels rise.

Hailstorm has badly affected several areas of Pattan in Baramulla district today, causing massive damage to orchards, crops & property.

Worst affected areas include Dangarpora (reported 100% damage), Dondora, Shouch, Chokur Checksari, Seru Gudwani, Guwa, Nehalpora & various other villages of Pattan Baramulla.

Requesting @DCBaramulla Syed Fakhrudin to kindly intervene immediately, send official teams for ground assessment & ensure timely relief & assistance to the affected families.
