Not all data needs to live onchain to be trustlessly verifiable.

Flare’s FDC Data Availability Layer gives users and applications access to attestation responses and Merkle proofs offchain, while the corresponding Merkle root remains onchain.

This means data can be retrieved efficiently and independently verified before a smart contract acts on it.

And because operating a DA Layer is permissionless, anyone can provide access to this data.
