the reason i left massachusetts is they removed the "fresh crap" sign from the carp tank at that supermarket in china town so you all can stop asking now
@KyleHessling1 I'm working on something related to natural speech right now and it switched to Opus 4.8 because it thought it was related to biology. I'm surprised anyone is able to use it.
You attributed the 1 to 3 watt-hour figure to Epoch AI. That is backwards. Epoch's actual finding is about 0.3 watt-hours per typical query. The 3 watt-hour number you used is the 2023 estimate Epoch's report debunked. Altman says 0.34. Google measured a median Gemini query at 0.24.
For the laptops - A query returns in under a minute. You still type the prompt and read the answer, so there are no extra laptop hours. The query energy is the only addition, and at 0.3 watt-hours it is a rounding error next to the machine already running.
So 2.5 billion queries at 0.3 watt-hours is the daily electricity of 27,000 homes. The real story is training and data center construction.
This is a pipe tobacco review.
Seattle Pipe Club's Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged has a very strong Super Elastic Bubble Plastic aka Bloonies odor, or "tin note". There is nothing else to the scent but ethyl acetate/polyvinyl acetate and it lingers minutes after I've closed the tin. Huffing it reveals a light tobacco scent of some kind while also burning my nose. The stamp on the bottom implies this product was made in 2024 which could contribute to its pungent odor. There is a cube of wood from a rum barrel inside the tin.
Now I will smoke it.
It tastes kind of good.
Final thoughts: It's fine.
Thanks for reading my review of Mississippi River Rum Barrel Aged from Seattle Pipe Club. Not a sponsor.
@WallStreetApes Pointing things out only desensitizes people. Normalize turning them into dog food or they'll end up normalizing kid fucking. Just watch.
