#MarineDebris such as lost fishing gear is common in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary waters. Fishing gear and other trash can do harm by entangling wildlife including manatees and sea turtles, and degrading critical habitats like coral reefs and seagrass beds.

Hurricane Dorian could seriously impact sea turtle nests. Following the storm surveys will be conducted in Florida to determine the overall damage to the sea turtle population. Hopefully they will not be greatly affected. ๐ข
