I have zero clue how to get the energy to play Apex solo anymore. I open it up, shoot in the firing range a bit, then close it (repeat at least 3x throughout the day)
If your an MNK player no matter the skill level i have endless respect for you
Especially if your a casual and can't spend time warming up or have spare 100's/1000's of hours to learn and prac aim + movement
Do the best you can to enjoy the game and complain as much as you like/get your frustrations out when dying to something unrealistic and unfair
Just don't blame or belittle the person its not there fault, its the input being insane
Advance lurching on octane is a direct counter to aim assist if used correctly at the right times, this goes hand and hand with good positioning and smarter pushes. Most mnk movement players have unbelievably awful micro positioning or terrible lurches that are predictable. I was like that before my pred grind. Once I was hanging around @MgClutchh I noticed so much I was doing wrong and how much he was doing right without any movement. it had nothing to do with aim assist getting him his crazy damage and kills. It’s all about how he thinks about using the core mechanics and looking at zones and stuff to help him out position someone 5 minutes before he even takes a fight. It’s crazy how much actually goes into apex to win and be consistent. This is NOT satire at all. I haven’t been complaining about roller at all these last 3-4 weeks. I just notice my mistakes now and try and find what I could’ve done better in a certain
scenario There’s always something that can change the outcome of a fight.
@Aedenful red flag to take a break and also check your hand. In the future, do not force yourself to play higher difficulty scenarios in kovaaks. Only in bursts. The returns are way lower if its too high as you may create bad habits. You need to be 100% relaxed/confident with your basics.
As someone who uses aim trainers such as KovaaKs and Aim Labs to improve my aim in game (like a lot of you guys I’m assuming) I don’t see the importance of focusing on fundamentals talked about enough.
Over my time playing apex and really focusing on my mechanics I’ve seen so many times where people either give out scenarios or playlists or people just play scenarios that are simply "too hard" for newer MNK players or even experienced MNK players that are inexperienced in aim trainers and I’m even guilty of doing this. Now yes you will technically get better aim over time by doing these playlists and scenarios but will more than likely run into issues such as wrist pain from tensing up to compensate for improper form and technique and overall bad habits within in game aim.
Just because you can do a certain difficulty of scenarios or playlists and set decent scores doesn’t mean you should play them. Aim training should be treated like any other form of training where you start with the very basics and over time you advance once you 100% know you are ready and if ignored the negatives will outweigh the positives. (This obviously doesn't apply towards people who have mastered fundamentals and can do harder scenarios with good form and with good habits)
The best way I’ve found to practice fundamentals for every subcategory of aiming are the Voltaic Daily Improvement Method (VDIM) playlists beginning at the ENTRY level no matter the prior experience; and making sure you are doing proper technique for each aim subcategory ensuring you have developed the proper fundamentals in each subcategory before advancing to the next level. When you advance can only be determined by yourself and analyzing your technique. I’ve done the entry level smoothness portion of VDIM every day for around a month now and have seen the most improvement in my aim in said month as well as getting rid of bad aim habits and correcting my form and technique. I even almost completely removed the wrist pain I once dealt with due to too much tensing (this is just from personal experience it isn’t a guarantee but I’m saying this in hopes that i am able to help others). I highly suggest every single person who doesn’t 100% for sure know if they have proper technique and form or even people who aren’t sure where they are and want to see if this will benefit them to focus on these entry level playlists for either all of the playlists in the VDIM or just the ones for the aim subcategories you want to focus on. I’ll be leaving links below for the KovaaKs and Aim Labs versions in replies 🙂 (ty Voltaic for making such amazing resources)
aim assist totally isn't the reason half the playerbase can aim. I'm just coping right? I'm obviously just a mnk player with a skill issue right? I just need to work harder right?
this remote hacker thing raises a huge concern for me
imagine a scenario where a remote hacker is a fan of X team. He hacks their PC & gives them an additional 10% aim assist. Something unnoticeable but obviously gives a big advantage. No one would know, not even the players…
as someone who recently learned to IGL i would like to give the following advice to those that are experienced but not IGLs inviting a person who is fresh to IGLing on their team
-give them space to make calls and grow, let them make mistakes
-do not counter call, idc how smart you know your call is. if they are completely stuck then make a suggestion but don't make it as a call.
-work with them on what makes them confused and what helps them IGL. everyone comms differently and it can get confusing. ik the way i com in a non-igl role i just give info in a normal tone, sometimes people get confused and think im making calls instead but im just helping us stay informed.
-build on their calls - if they hesitate but want to move somewhere, encourage the calls to help build their confidence.
-don't give up on them after one scrim/tourney because IGLing is tough and hard to be consistent in
i also know it sucks to lose fights/games when you know a counter call can help your team but when someone is learning a new role they need to fail to learn. if you want your teammate to keep improving be supportive. 🫡
