Hey @fordnation
I escaped your hellhole of Ontario for greener pastures in Alberta.
The first thing I noticed, Danielle Smith doesn't dictate to her citizens what they can drink.
I get to have my California wines again!
One: Canada.
It has a federal carbon tax and slipped into a technical recession in Q1 2026 (two consecutive quarters of annualized GDP contraction per StatsCan).
France, Germany, Japan and the UK also have carbon taxes but show positive (or flat) growth and are not in recession. Italy and the US do not have national carbon taxes.
BREAKING: Mark Carney is the ONLY leader in the G7 to lead his economy into a RECESSION. All other G7 countries face the same tariff and global problems, yet none are in a recession.
Excuses, speeches, buzzwords, and signing ceremonies do not grow the economy.
Canada is the only G7 country in recession because of Carney Liberals hiking industrial carbon taxes, kept anti-development laws, and doubling Trudeau’s deficit.
A Liberal Prime Minister, elected with just 44% of the vote, condescendingly telling Albertans that 50% is not enough, has got to be the perfect summary of how Ottawa treats Alberta.
We live in a country that makes you press 1 at the start of every call to speak to someone in English, only to be connected to someone in India who can't.
If you want a proper English speaker, press 2 for French. I'm not even kidding, it works:
They speak great English.
A Canadian doctor met a mentally ill guy with bowel problems at a Tim Hortons, told him the best treatment option for him was to die, and then drove him to the hospital to be euthanized.
Not even memes can capture the level of retardation Canada has achieved in real life
