Murder Suspect Arrested in 24‑Year‑Old Cold Case
FRISCO, TX – On April 20, 2026, at approximately 7:47 a.m., members of the Frisco Police Department, working in coordination with the Waxahachie Police Department, arrested 55‑year‑old Waxahachie resident Lisa Honrud on a murder warrant connected to a 24‑year‑old cold case.
Investigators with the Frisco Police Department have made significant progress in a 24‑year‑old cold case homicide. Through advancements in investigative techniques, modern technology, and new information from a key witness, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Mrs. Honrud.
This arrest is connected to the 2002 murder of Plano resident Frank Weiss, who was found dead near Lake Lewisville within the Frisco city limits. At the time of the murder, Lisa Honrud was married to Mr. Weiss.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Frisco Police Department at (972) 292‑6010. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by texting FRISCOPD and the tip to 847411 (tip411) or by using the Frisco PD app available on Android and iOS devices.
