Politics, Justice And Peace for Ireland and the wider world. Sick of the current system in Ireland. Man Utd, Celtic, Cork City and GAA fan. Views are my own.
@LeoVaradkar You hit the nail on the head. Nothing to do with omicron. Our health system is so understaffed and underfunded. No capacity increased in our ICU. It's hitting winter flu season. I'm old enough to remember our hospitals were overcrowded before covid and nothing has changed.
@LeoVaradkar You had *checks notes* thirteen years in government to make these graphs look different. Thankfully only one of us teaches economics. You wouldn’t even get into my class 💁🏼♀️
This is a must read from @davidmcw “Is Ireland the worst run country in Europe?”
The figures in this article are mind blowing . No accountability in the Senior echelons of Public Service. No wonder people are angry. #fuelprotests
No protesters stopped us from getting to Dublin for Katie’s appointment tomorrow. In fact, they went out of their way to help us.
We were shown kindness, support, and understanding from people who owed us nothing. So let’s be very clear, the problem is not the protesters. The problem is a system that has left families like ours fighting for far too long.
While others point fingers, we are the ones living this reality. And today, the people being blamed were the very ones offering help.
I think the present government has destroyed the relationship between the public and the Garda Síochána for good, Having a late lunch in a resturant and four members of the guards walked in three males and a woman. Suddenly the place went quiet, they were seated, Other customers and staff looking at them.
Their order was taken and shortly after the owner or manager went and asked them very politely to leave the premises as they were not welcome, that their presence was upsetting other customers and would they inform their colleagues they are not welcome either, As they walked out the door tail between their legs people clapped and cheered it was surreal.
