Those launches were investments that paid for themselves many times over with the ongoing revenue each batch of sats unlocked. The low launch cost coupled with the high subscriber cash flow made them the money machines that built this mega constellation.

This morning’s @SpaceX mission from pad 40 was the last planned Falcon 9 Starlink launch from Florida (and it launched on the fleet leading booster!!), marking the end of an era for these launches on the East Coast. From here on, Starlink missions out of Florida will fly on Starship. The West Coast team will continue regularly launching Starlink from Vandenberg.

Public comments at school board meetings are protected by the First Amendment, and by state constitutions. Written public comments must be open under public records laws. One Wyoming school district is violating those laws to censor criticism. @GoldwaterInst is on it.

Truth. The media thinks they are wielding a mighty rhetorical cudgel willfully ignorant that "peer review" is merely a preliminary, often superficial and ideologically influenced filter by a small number of anonymous reviewers. It is not a guaranty of truth, replicability, methodological soundness, or freedom from error, bias, or fraud. "Science(®!) has spoken, now sit down!" Invoking "peer review" conflates a process designed to raise the average quality of the publication with an authoritative certification of specific conclusions. The media is really just using it as a preening, self-congratulatory status marker, not an epistemic one.

Peer-review is not a part of the scientific method. Period.

The peer-review system, as it exists in its current form, has only existed since the 1970s (maybe 1960s in some cases). It is a relatively modern academic gatekeeping process, it’s not an ancient pillar of science.

Issac Newton, Galileo, Charles Darwin, and even much of Einstein's work (specifically his four Annus Mirabilis papers in 1905) were published without “peer-review.”

Science advances with new evidence, replication, and falsifiability. “Peer-reviewers” typically do none of the above things when reading over a paper that is submitted to an academic journal. Reviewers are anonymous “experts” who often just stamp approval for any papers they happen to agree with and reject ones that challenge their own biases or research because they want to be right.

Just because something has been “peer-reviewed” does not necessarily mean it is accurate.

And just because something hasn't been subject to the academic circle jerk does not necessarily mean it is invalid.

Your peers agreeing with your ideas does not automatically make your ideas valid.

“Peer-review” approval not the arbiter of truth. It can be. Sure. But it can also be gatekeeping.

Government officials can't keep taxpayers in the dark just because it's more convenient.

Today, the Arizona Supreme Court unanimously ruled for the Goldwater Institute, reaffirming that Arizona's public records laws carry a strong presumption of transparency—not secrecy.

It's a major win for open government.
