Many thanks to Mr Cozens and Miss Hobson from @fram_official for their support of science week events at Witton Gilbert Primary School earlier this week. They both loved showing students microscopes and exploring the microscopic worldπ¬. Many thanks for the invite @WGPStweets
Lung dissections this evening! π« Another great turn out from my anatomy squad. I'm so proud of how engaged they are, and the wonderful dissection skills they are developing and demonstrating. Can't wait for next time... π
Another amazing anatomy club tonight. π
Today we dissected eyes, and learned all about the structure of the eye and how it works. Such an amazing and beautiful organ... when you get past all the black goop! @FSDScience@AmbitionFram#anatomy#Biology#enrichment π
Nothing like an experiment with maggots first thing in the morning! Y13 biology students using a respirometer (built by our brilliant technicians!) to investigate the Q10 temperature coefficient. @fram_official
Loved having the moon rocks and meteorite samples in school this week. Thanks to @STFC_Matters .
Not everyday you get to see some real moon rocks and hold a meteorite in your hand! Great experience for some of our students.
Last night's Anatomy Club was fully booked! Our budding scientists dissected kidneys and used hydrogen peroxide to reveal the nephron structures! They got some wonderful cross sections and produced some lovely diagrams too. Well done all! @FSDScience@AmbitionFram
The first hands on activity at our new Anatomy Club. Thank you @misskbarton_sci for organising and supporting the students. Heart dissection today. Kidneys, eyeballs and other organs planned for the future. #enrichment
Putting this out there and hoping for some suggestions from the Twittersphere . If we are looking to identify students who are more likely to be capable of the learning demand of triple sciences based on Key stage 3 content, what would #science#edutwitter recommend to assess?
Well done to all of our wonderful year 11 students who took their first mock yesterday with chemistry up first. I am sure they will have a very fulfilling exam experience and learn a lot for the real thing, whatever that will be β€οΈ #GCSE#mocks
Education research tells us the best way to revise. Here's how to make sure that your students follow the rules, says @EnserMark
