Restricting 101 suppliers (and linked directors/owners) from doing business with the utility for periods of up to 10 years is a concrete demonstration of zero tolerance for corruption, fraud, procurement irregularities, and supplier misconduct.

These cases, many dating back years, went through a proper disciplinary process with the opportunity for suppliers to respond. The message is unambiguous: consequence management is real, transparent, and non-negotiable.

Public confidence in state-owned entities has taken repeated hits over the years. Decisive action like this is exactly what’s needed to start restoring it and to protect the integrity of the supply chain.

Eskom has mobilised additional teams and resources to restore electricity supply to areas affected by severe weather conditions in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape and the Free State. Restoration efforts are progressing where conditions are safe and access to infrastructure is possible.

Load reduction has always been a protective measure of last resort. It is driven largely by illegal connections, meter tampering and network overloading that put local infrastructure and public safety at risk. Removing it requires sustained technical work, smart meter rollout and partnership with communities.

Seven provinces are now clear. Focused efforts continue in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal as we push toward full nationwide elimination by 2027.

This progress reflects disciplined execution and the quiet determination of our Distribution teams on the ground. Well done. The work continues - one feeder, one community at a time.
