I paid a courtesy visit to the residence of my brother and partner, His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso, @KwankwasoRM, this afternoon. We had quality discussions on the progress of our party, the ADC, and how we must continue the work to ensure good governance and recovery are achieved in good time for the people. -AA

Today, we proudly welcomed Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, former Kano Deputy Governor and APC gubernatorial candidate, into the ADC family.

Speaking before a massive crowd at his Gawuna Ward, I described his defection as a monumental and inspiring development — one that signals the beginning of a larger movement as more prominent figures join our cause.

I also seized the moment to issue a clear warning to those planning to disrupt the upcoming electoral process: any attempt to manipulate or undermine the will of the people will be met with strong and resolute resistance. - RMK

As part of our cherished Kwankwasiyya tradition, I was deeply honoured to host thousands of our dedicated supporters for the annual Sallah homage at my residence in Kano.

The occasion was made even more vibrant and memorable by the presence of Their Excellencies: Peter Obi, Seyi Makinde, and Seriake Dickson, along with their esteemed entourages.

It was also heartwarming to be joined by the Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, alongside our federal and state legislators, as well as former commissioners and government officials in the state.

We were also privileged to welcome the national leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), ably led by our National Chairman Ahmed Ajuji and Bishop Isaac Idahosa, as well as key stalwarts of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano, led by Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad and Hon. Musa Ungogo, the party's Kano State Chairman.

I extend my sincere and heartfelt appreciation to every one of you who took time out of your busy schedules to grace this joyous celebration. Your presence truly made the day special.

I also wish to express profound gratitude to our talented Kwankwasiyya entertainers, led by Alhaji Tijjani Gandu and Sanusi Oscar, for their unwavering dedication and remarkable contributions to the vibrancy of our movement.

The pain of losing a mother is profound and irreplaceable. I urged Malam Nasir to take solace in the beautiful, enduring legacy she left behind — in his life, in the lives of his children, and in the many people she touched. - RMK

RESIGNATION FROM THE NEW NIGERIA PEOPLE’S PARTY (NNPP)

I wish to formally announce my resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) with immediate effect.

I seize this opportunity to express my profound gratitude for the honour and privilege of serving as the Party’s National Leader and its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 General Elections. As a committed and bonafide member of the party, this was not an easy decision to make.

However, considering the current trajectory of the nation’s political landscape, which calls for strategic realignment, I have found it necessary to identify with another political platform that offers the best opportunity to effectively change the nation.

I extend my deepest appreciation to the National Chairman, Ajuji Ahmed and the entire National Working Committee for their steadfast support throughout my time. I also thank the Board of Trustees, the National Executive Committee, and all levels of leadership across the party — from the ward to the state level, as well as the legacy members of the party and all followers of the Kwankwasiyya Movement for their dedication and commitment to our shared mission.

We shall continue to collaborate and work together towards charting a better and more prosperous future for our dear nation.

Yesterday, Monday 30th March, I returned to the North's Commercial nerve centre, Kano, on the invitation of my dear elder brother, Senator, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM, whose decision to join our party marks yet another significant step in the collective effort to rescue and rebuild our democracy and dear nation, Nigeria.

As I have consistently maintained, this is the time for all opposition forces and well-meaning Nigerians to set aside their differences and work together in unity of purpose.

Nigeria is at a critical stage in its history, one that demands sacrifice, courage, and selflessness from all of us. The challenges we face, economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and declining public trust, require more than rhetoric. They require deliberate collaboration, disciplined leadership, and a shared commitment to national progress.

We must move beyond the politics of division, ethnicity, religion, and region, and embrace the politics of competence, character, capacity, compassion, and commitment to a better Nigeria. The task before us is not about winning elections alone; it is about rebuilding institutions, restoring confidence in governance, and securing a better future for our children.

I therefore call on all members of the opposition, and indeed every patriotic Nigerian, to see this moment as a defining one. A moment that calls for unity over division, service over self, and nation over personal interest.

A new Nigeria is POssible, but it will require all of us, working together, making sacrifices, and staying committed to the vision of a just, equitable, and prosperous nation. -PO

The barbaric attack on the Gari Ya Waye community in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, which claimed the lives of no fewer than 27 Nigerians and left many others injured, is yet another tragic and shameful chapter in our nation's history.

This senseless bloodshed represents the continuing failure of leadership and the deepening culture of impunity that has turned parts of our country into killing fields. The recurring violence in Plateau State, and indeed across several parts of Nigeria, can no longer be treated as business as usual. It demands to be treated as the national emergency that it was declared to be by the Federal and State Governments.

Our people deserve the right to live in peace, security, and dignity, regardless of their ethnicity or faith.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go to the families of the victims, the injured, and the entire Gari Ya Waye community in this moment of profound grief. - RMK
