It was amazing to present my paper 'A Private War on Women's Bodies: Head Shaving and Gender Dynamics during the Allied Occupation of Rome' at the Colloquium 'Occupied. Towards a Comparative and Entangled History of Occupation in the Age of Total War' held at the KNIR, Rome.

[Fabio Simonetti @FabSimonetti]

@KruizingaSamuel Thank YOU very much for inviting me - it was a great pleasure to join you in Rome, share my research, meet colleagues and discuss their exciting works on occupation, occupiers and occupied. Looking forward to the next steps!

Are you happy to start your 2024 with a great (of course!) history talk and are free at around lunchtime this Friday 5 January? Then come to the National Army Museum or register for free to attend online my talk on 'Wartime Encounters in Sicily'! https://t.co/fd0XAom0Lo

[Fabio Simonetti @FabSimonetti]

@battleguide @societyarmy Many thanks, Dudley, it was my pleasure! I intend to start the talk by mentioning the brilliant SAHR centenary conference.

[Fabio Simonetti @FabSimonetti]

@AndrewBamford10 @societyarmy Thank you so much, Andrew. When I was invited to talk about Sicily at NAM I thought it was the closing of the circle (broken by the pandemic...). It is my intention to start by mentioning the SAHR edited volume!

[Fabio Simonetti @FabSimonetti]

@AmeliaClegg1 Happy new year to you too, Amelia, many thanks!

After “some” work, it is very rewarding to see it out! 19 articles discuss the never ending attempts of Italian culture to deal with Fascism (through literature, cinema, arts, and new media)
Thanks to all authors and co-editors for the journey
