@catchthots@TwanDaMegalodon As i said before "every statement has a degree of truth". In this case, I think everyone can agree that, for a while, sonic games visuals have been going down.
This doc ends up as a way to point out the "before and
@TwanDaMegalodon@catchthots Also i find it pertinent to bring the first page of the document when it comes to the notion that "its trying to dictate the franchise, and it beleves they should control the franchise".
In this case, i find the document to be respectfull and filled with tons of evidence.
@TwanDaMegalodon@catchthots personally speaking. (atleast in terms of vissuals) the franchise has deteriorated, not only on the technical side. but also on the direction. then again for the past decadee sonic team resambles more a indi studio due to constrainst and other circumstances.
@TwanDaMegalodon@catchthots Thats true. I beleve that every statement has some degree of truth and all of this comes from a place of love.
The doc is a nice way of explaining all the diferences with examples and all, and it brings valid arguments. I say after that most things fall under interpretation
@catchthots But going back to the initial post, the guy making the doc does make a point, as again, lighting and art direction are one and the same (or at least very close). So it's completely valid to point out how bad Crossworlds light baker is.
Thanks for comming to my TED talk.
@catchthots Because of this light baker, we manage to have a game thats looks nice (90% of its look is because of the baked light), and it still runs great (i can run this on a laptop with 512mb... not recomended)
@catchthots I would be hard pressed to say that they "implemented" baked lights, its mostly for shadows but their bounce light is basically non existent. In general sonic team is confusing, because they make so many choises that one just asks "why?"
