Interstellar (2014) – This is a longer video but had to include one of the greatest scenes in cinema history.
Director Christopher Nolan and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema sought to ground an epic science fiction story in visceral reality. They aimed to capture the vast, terrifying scale of space using the warm, tangible textures of IMAX film, where natural light, dust, and monumental scope amplify the film’s core human emotion.
The visual design features a stark contrast between Earth and space. Earth appears in desaturated browns and yellows, bathed in dusty, high-contrast light that conveys a dying, sun-scorched planet. In opposition, space is defined by staggering blackness and pure, hard light, with objects like the Endurance and distant planets illuminated by a single, unfiltered source—emphasizing cosmic danger and loneliness.
The cinematography embraces practical effects and physical scale. Shot extensively on IMAX film, cosmic landscapes, massive spinning ships, and the wormhole interior feel physically present. Motifs like shafts of hard light cutting through haze or the serene blue glow of a water world connect the characters’ inner journey to the universe’s grand, indifferent physics. The look is tactile, grand, and intensely human within the infinite.
Ever wonder how a spring's made?
So, first you pick a good material, usually steel, and draw it into a thin wire. Then you coil that wire into the shape you want with a machine, and heat-treat it to make it strong and flexible.
After that, you might polish or coat it to protect it. Finally, it gets tested to make sure it's strong enough and performs like it should.
Professional wallpaper installers employ a technique known as double cutting, wherein two overlapping panels are simultaneously incised to achieve perfectly precise edges.
Subsequently, both trimmed edges are lifted, the waste strips are removed, and the freshly cut lines are pressed together, ensuring a seamless pattern alignment and a virtually invisible seam that integrates flawlessly with the surface.
This method proves particularly effective for textured or patterned walls, as the continuous cut maintains alignment and results in a smooth, entirely uniform finished surface.

"Reflecting on $LPK's latest meeting notes — I think I (and the market) slept on this one.
Key takeaways:
• NASDAQ listing reportedly under active discussion
• Management targeting an ambitious 70% market share
• TAM appears far larger than earlier estimates suggested
• Base case: 4-5 players securing orders this year
• Industry signals readiness for high-volume production ramps
I believe $LPK looks undervalued here.
Disclosure: I hold a long position in $LPKFF
