@samanthasrants@Bernard_Lane@HalifaxBank Yes, when they tell you to FO if you don't like it. Or do you just shrug your shoulders and go "OK" when you criticise something and then get told to get lost by 'customer services' if you don't like it???
You just know if this was a Cabinet member, Sir Keir Starmer and Labour would be demanding their resignations, even before Durham Police had concluded their investigation ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ https://t.co/ltAjv35Krn
@AlloTisI@BarclaysUKHelp@BarclaysUKHelp may fool most people, but I see what they're doing - it's patently obvious. How many branch closures have been reversed, no matter how much people complain? That's right, not a single one.
@BarclaysUKHelp One last point, which I hope you will pass on; Barclays would gain my respect if it said how many branches will be left when its mass closure programme is complete. That would at least be honest and open, rather than using underhand death-by-a-thousand-cuts salami tactics. Thks.
@AlloTisI@BarclaysUKHelp And this is the point. It's not like just closing shop, it's physically turning your back on customers (my branch is always busy when I visit), on the people, on the locale, on the community. We all look insignificant and irrelevant from the 14ft floor at Canary Wharf. Very sad.
@BarclaysUKHelp Any branch closure is a denudation of service standards - an achingly symbolic physical desertion of your customers and the community you've been a part of for so long, in difficult times, leaving a boarded-up edifice c/w To Let/May Sell sign. In far off London no-one cares. 2/2
@BarclaysUKHelp Thank you at least for picking my comments up Leanne. I'm very sad about it. I feel Barclays is being dishonest; the real reason for mass closures is simply the company's desire to massively cut the branch n/w to an absolute minimum, eg 40 nationwide, to cut out costs. 1/2
@BarclaysUKHelp Already done it. Usual guff. The lovely people in my local branch only found out the day you announced it. They told me there was zero chance you'd change your mind. It's just cost cutting for your benefit and killing off what's left of the high street. After 38 years, cheerio.
@BarclaysUKHelp You don't get it, do you? Without a usable branch network, what is the benefit of banking with Barclays over, say, Starling or Monzo? Answer; less than none.
@BarclaysUKHelp Actually it's very easy for you. You do it day-in, day-out. You clearly want a just skeleton branch network, perhaps one in each big city at most. That's no good to me.
How disgraceful for a bank, in a time of so much financial uncertainty for tens of millions of people, to be so brazenly bigoted and condescending. Shame on Halifax, says Mercy Muroki.

Halifax Bank is an example of โcorporate virtue-signalling gone wrongโ after telling customers to close their accounts if they disagree with the companyโs values, says Sky News host @RitaPanahi
