I’m going to share some insight on how @MEXC is bringing stocks onto the exchange in different forms, and making a much bigger market easier to reach

First, RealStocks vs Stock Futures
People mix them because both have a company name on the screen, BUT they are quite different

RealStocks is the hold rail. What does that mean?

- you hold the share
- you get the real underlying via MEXC’s partnered licensed broker
- in some cases you get a dividend (a reward paid to shareholders)
- there is no contract leverage
- working hours follow the stock market
- holding stocks here does not mean you have the right to vote

NOTE: you need extra verification to open RealStocks, BUT Futures does not need that

on the other hand, Stock Futures is the trade rail. You trade the price of a stock. You can go long or short, with different leverages

- there is no share delivery
- it runs 24/7
- leverage is there, but check the ticket on that symbol
- you are not the owner of the share, not at all

How about fees?
I think the reason behind MEXC’s zero-fee policy is to let beginners try stock products with less friction. Not all stocks on MEXC are zero-fee, as far as I understand it is region based. Still, you can find some good names there

New listings are usually zero-fee. My examples on Stock Futures are $MU and $SNDK.

but don’t forget:
spread and funding are still going to cost you one way or another

And one more thing
When the stock market closes, these futures do not switch off or jump to a pre-market tab.
