In June, @Powells Books sponsored an author meet and great and panel with the writer's of the book, "The Price She Pays: Confronting the Hidden Mental Health Crisis in Women's Sports - from the Schoolyard to the Stadium. The authors, who are both mental health therapists and "experts" talked for an hour about the mental health crisis among female athletes. Also on this panel was the owner of @TheSportsBraPDX.
Concerned and brave Oregonian women and mothers attended to ask questions about the invasion of males into female sports, locker rooms, and single sex spaces. Below is a recording of the interaction between these women and the authors. What you are about to hear is two mental health experts say that young girls should step aside, ignore their discomfort and instincts, and give up their rights and dreams. AND They should do so politely. They further parroted the debunked and dangerous lie and emotional blackmail regarding self harm.
To say this is shocking is an understatement.
We demand that experts and lawmakers stop gaslighting women and girls and stand up for their sex-based rights and safety.

Sports is an endeavor based in the material reality of biology. All people are entitle to compete in the sports division of their biological sex no matter how they identify.
