Key results & takeaways from Maine's ranked choice voting primaries:
👥Turnout reached record highs
🤝Candidates embraced RCV like never before, w/ cross-endorsements in both parties' primaries
🗳️Candidates won w/ majority support, instead of just 25% of the vote
In Georgia's primary runoffs, turnout fell statewide by 24%. Some races saw turnout drop by more than 60%.
Past statewide runoffs cost GA taxpayers as much as $75 million.
These are predictable problems w/ runoffs. Ranked choice voting would solve them.

Ranked choice voting offers a better, faster, cheaper alternative to runoffs. Voters rank candidates, and an “instant runoff” determines a majority winner if needed.
With RCV, Georgians wouldn't need to vote in – or pay for – two elections.

Voters gradually trickled in and out of Ward 5’s McKinley Tech today at around 1pm. Voters told me they’re utilizing ranked choice voting, and it was mostly intuitive to use.
So terrific to see the response from DC voters as they use ranked choice voting for the first time.
And fun to have DC Board of Elections' William Marshall stop by the polls.
Huge congrats to @Vote4DC, @RanktheDistrict, & so many others for bringing RCV to our nation’s capital!
