Telling the truth through a fake twitter feed regarding the key issues affecting the banking industry. Fans of @TheOnion, @TheBabylonBee and @AmerBanker.
Capitol Hill update: The White House, Leader Thune, Chairman Scott, and the entire House have formed a polite line outside Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s office, humbly awaiting her blessing before they can finally pass the housing bill. Let’s go Senate!

This is an incredible @AmerBanker piece.
A credit union advocate admits that credit unions would, in fact, gain an unfair advantage over community banks with a higher FDIC cap - that they would use the higher cap to attract larger business accounts.
Of course, that's pretty much beyond their mission, and it's exactly what two community bankers recently complained about in another American Banker piece (see below).
Credit unions are supposed to be sleepy little member-driven coops. They're not. But they're tax exempt.
Not sure the credit union guy thought carefully enough about this one....
Texas Trust CU Invests $29 Million in New Headquarters: The pyramid is being transformed from red to the Texas Trust branded blue, which will glow at night. There are also 1,000 windows on the building that are being replaced and tinted blue. #TaxpayerDollarsAtWork; #LetsAllColorOurHQs @myibat@texasbankers
Credit Unions Pay at Least $307 Million in Special Dividends
CU Times has tallied special dividends from 52 credit unions that returned $306.9 million to at least some of their 6.6 million members over the past six months. #taxfreetuesday image: Southwest Corporate FCU, Plano TX @myibat

Dear @FinancialCmte Republicans: You fought for the House majority to lead us forward - not to hand your gavel to Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Stand firm and show America what real leadership looks like. #HouseGOP#StandUpToWarren
The Senate just passed the biggest housing bill in 30 years with a huge bipartisan majority.
House Republicans should immediately take up this bill and pass it. If they do not, they will have to explain to American families why they refuse to lower the cost of housing.

The arc of the universe bends toward consensus — and then toward blocking people who remember your earlier positions — Sheila Bair @FDICgov
Dear Followers- I will no longer be posting on X. Doge, child porn, the nod to white supremacy. Just can’t continue. I will still be posting on LinkedIn and have a new account on BlueSky with the creative handle of Sheila Bair. I also write an occasional newsletter on Substack. I will not deactivate this account so you can continue to peruse my past pearls of wisdom. Hope to connect with you again on one of these other platforms. Adieu.
They seem to be working on the whole “humility thing,” but banks better watch out. Religious-based credit unions, with their presumed fair dealing, light regulatory touch, and tax-free status, might, like the mustard seed, grow fast and big.
Pam Bondi and Jeanine Pirro blaming “Operation There Is Marble Tile in a Fed Unisex Bathroom” on @Pulte is a reach.
He’s seen the Oval Office. He understands irony.
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte said, “I don’t know anything about it,” when asked during an interview about the Federal Reserve being served grand jury subpoenas https://t.co/GIA2Y9imz5
Oh fab, Pam Bondi’s DOJ clown car subpoenaing Powell? Just boosts odds he stays, running FOMC post-chair. WH’s only play: appoint @SecScottBessent. The Kevins? Total Halligan/Pirro vibes. Bondi - learn to ignore POTUS calls after 11pm.

The Danes are taking Trump’s threats seriously. See below for video. Jerome Powell likely preparing his defense with equal seriousness #TikTok https://t.co/QqkG4IPIxA
I get @BillAckman’s deleted tweet; I had the same initial eye-roll at the “Greenland by force” saga. But absurdity IS the secret sauce. Bet Pres snags mineral rights to 1/3 of Greenland for peanuts, flipping the script on China. Mad genius vibes. (Just keep Lutnick out of it.)
Take a deep breath banker friends. Bessent and Pres will not crater $1.3t industry. This play will reduce tax the rich pressure, save $50b through voluntary compliance, earn press for base, and further distract. Brilliant @SecScottBessent

Well, someone has redeemed himself post 60 Minutes chat about Epstein. Spreading his profile again. Future Viceroy of Venezuela? Or Bessent backstop should Trump realize the Kevins can’t meet the moment at Fed. @SecScottBessent
Good sign? Below is Bessent’s understated power office at Treasury. Adjacent is a mock up of same office by Howard Lutnick’s design team. Indicative of a Fed Chair announcement? Or a premature measuring of the drapes?
