@JimCosta_ Lazy take. The failure of the yzerplan begins with trying to build around Larkin. The guy isnt a leader, isn’t a producer on the ice, and clearly one of the empty sweaters this new coach talked about. Good riddance.
Man this situation just blows. And everyone is to blame. Yzerman hasn’t been aggressive enough in adding when the team needed it, & pro scouting has been overall bad.
Larkin was ALSO the captain of a team that was in a playoff spot 3 straight years. And crumbled each time. 1/2
@annikadevils Technically speaking your right but Larkin has what 4 years on his contract and in 2 years that ntc goes down to 10 teams.. I’m not saying they will keep him but that’s absolutely an option.
For anyone whining about how his "hometown" team failed him here's a pic of Larkin at the 2014 Winter Classic.
Dont look up his 5v5 goal production past January this season either
Honestly if the offers aren’t good enough from teams Larkin is willing to go to, strip him of the C and don’t trade him. Give the C to Mo. Wait until it goes to a modified no move clause and ship him the fuck out when you have more options. BYE👋
@theTonyFerrari 😂 I get why Larkin wants out but his play in March was a major reason Detroit fell off.
- 11 games from Feb 28-April 7 without an even strength goal.
- 9 games from March 2-April 4 without an even strength
Dylan Larkin is the captain of a team who has choked away season after season and now he wants to jump ship because in his eyes, he isn't at all part of the problem there.
He also isn't very young, so it's unlikely he changes his attitude.
I'm staying far away from him.
@JimCosta_ March is his worst PPG by month of his career. If he’s mad because they keep missing the playoffs he should take some of that responsibility.
