Honestly if the offers aren’t good enough from teams Larkin is willing to go to, strip him of the C and don’t trade him. Give the C to Mo. Wait until it goes to a modified no move clause and ship him the fuck out when you have more options. BYE👋
@kallalalla33@MrRonertSrub If he wants to win so bad, then having to play on the team he’s apparently trying to escape doesn’t seem like an ideal scenario for him and would presumably incentivize him from being not so picky. Wings need to gather literally any leverage they can
@SundanceKidSr@JeffChen020 It’s not going up either way and it’s just a shit situation all around. The original tweet merely addresses the situation where SY gets lack luster offers. You’re not trading Larkin for a lesser player or at least a plethora of assets that collectively reach his “level”
I get why Larkin wants out but his play in March was a major reason Detroit fell off.
- 11 games from Feb 28-April 7 without an even strength goal.
- 9 games from March 2-April 4 without an even strength point.
If I'm Steve, I don't trade him unless it is a slam dunk. You can't cripple the org and not have any top 6 center. wanting to be traded is one thing. Getting traded is another. He's also dead to me now.

Less analytical and more emotional response to Larkin requesting a trade: soft.
I get wanting to win. I get pushing Yzerman to add. I get that you're tired of losing.
Still soft. Larkin wasn't free from blame as to why Detroit fell short the past few years.
Soft. #LGRW
Asked Bill Daly whether the #NHL’s viewpoint has changed with additional medical studies that show a definitive link between CTE and repeated blows to the head.
“No,” Daly said. “I think the science is still lacking.”
