#FalloutForHope Charity Initiative 2020 - 2026 | A New Adventure in Hope & Philanthropy begins in 2027...

[FalloutForHope @FalloutForHope]

Everything has an End. But also a new Beginning.
To the best community in gaming, Fallout For Hope, as you've known it, is coming to an end.
Our final day is July 25th.

And while this may surprise or shock you, keep reading...because this journey just became something so much more, and a new chapter awaits us.

This journey started not with a step on a road, but a moment of humanity, a meaningful gesture, and a single "what if" in response to people in the #Fallout76 community who needed our help. And help we did. Hope was given, a single life changed.

In December of 2020, when the world felt dark and disconnected a few of us logged in not to fight, but to do something for someone else. We chose the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital whose holidays were being spent far from home. Hundreds of you, the world over, answered the call. Over $109,000 was raised in a single week.

“What if?” are two of the most powerful words in any language. They are the fertile soil from which all things grow. The first shoots of something none of us could have imagined broke the surface. One year rolled into another, and another.

Six years on, look at what you all grew, what this community achieved: $1.35 million, not just for one cause, but many: @StJude, @alzassociation, @American_Heart, @projecthopeorg, @MakeAWishIntl. Trees in inner cities, and real help for real families on the ground from natural disasters in Texas to crushing poverty in Appalachia. Over 900 streamers, creators, and community leaders, in 87 countries found it within themselves to do what the pessimist deems a rose-tinted fantasy – you chose to give. To sacrifice, to put others first. Your time, your talent, your hearts. There are people alive today, people born tomorrow, faces you will never greet and voices you may never hear who were touched by that choice, They represent the great many whose future you shaped. That is not a small thing. That is everything. That is the meaning of life.

So why step away now?

Not because anything went wrong, but because something went so very right. Time changes everything it touches. And sometimes… it means leaving home. For six years, this has been home. But we've outgrown the ground beneath us, ground that was graciously granted in name. We’ve reached a fork in the road where to continue to do this means its time to do it bigger, it means its time to do it right. To build a home that is truly, transparently, wholly our own. What has been built quietly in the background is, to coin a phrase from the Fallout universe: a home of tomorrow. Walking through the door isn’t the end of the story. It's the bravest page in it. And the faces that await behind it will be more than familiar to you.

So before we go, we're going to do the impossible one last time, exactly the way we started: together, one community, in one voice and side by side with a friend, a mentor and someone who knows full heart the power this community wields when we almost lost him: @WesJohnsonVoice.

Now through July 25th we cordially invite you to bring hope to the darkest of places one last time as we started: standing with the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of those we lost to this terrible disease and in solidarity of people we know who will face it yet. On our final day, live from the main stage at @GCXEvent myself, Wes, and some familiar faces are going to show you what comes next...the next chapter, a longer road and at the end of it a horizon without limit.

To every one of you who volunteered, logged in, donated, watched, reshared, gave away your own loot, streamed for hours, or simply chose to help a stranger…I cannot find the words adequate enough to thank you, much less praise you. All of this was only possible because of all of you.

Fallout at its best, narratively, figuratively has always asked us one pervasive question. With limited time, and an open road before you, and so, so many obstacles… who would you choose to be? Let’s not just play through that choice. Let’s show the world what we can be.

Sign up for our final #FalloutForHope Fundraiser below. 👇 One last time...for Wes.

I hope to see you all in the Wasteland. 🌅

It also appears we are not QUITE done as we were. :)

I've been informed by our friends at @tiltify that we've been nominated for their 1st annual Creator Impact Honors, a yearly celebration of streamers, creators and teams who have gone above and beyond in the name of others.

We've been nominated for the Fandom Impact award, a fan community that turned the love of a game or world in collective giving.

The winners across all categories will be announced October 27th and us being nominated against the great many names on these lists is an honor.

You should all be exceptionally proud.
Best community in gaming.

This year, we’re celebrating Fallout Day a little differently. While there won’t be a live broadcast, we’ll have something new to celebrate each day across our social channels, including YOU, the community, rad partnerships, existing Fallout titles, and a first look at the Fallout 76 World Pets update.

[Buttered Popcorn Post Nuclear Fan Events @BPEventsNV]

🕯️We are heartbroken to share the passing of Captain Montfort of the 59th NCR Boneyard Dogs 59th NCR Boneyard Dogs roleplay groups (Insta), known out of uniform and character to friends and family as Chris Mumford. He was a dedicated cosplayer and was a staple both at the @PioneerSaloon13 and is one of our own.

What follows is a post from his friends and I cannot stress enough to anyone here: please, please...if you ever get low, if you ever think you aren't loved, people don't care, or that you won't ever be missed - know that voice always lies. Ask for help, reach out, talk and dial 988 if you are ever in crisis. Far too many of us, myself included still miss people like Chris.

I'm resharing on our socials but please offer your thoughts, love, support and condolences to the 59th NCR Boneyard Dogs today and anyone has videos and photos of Chris please DM them. His family has requested them https://t.co/D2g9yRfvd5

"It is with a heavy heart that I must inform everyone of the passing of Chris Mumford aka Captain Montfort. Chris was the founder of the 59th. The original Boneyard Dog.

Chris was a shining light of calm and kindess to everyone he met. Always willing to lend a hand. He expressed his love of Fallout and his other interests with absolute commitment. We all will feel his absence. Our community has lost a cornerstone.

There is no shortage of love for him, even by those who barely knew him. His smile can be seen far and wide in photos with the many who were fortunate enough to share some time with him. He was a good man. He was our brother.

It is at the request of his family that I also say that Chris sadly took his own life. His behavior was normal and did not indicate suicidal ideations. It shines a light on the reality of mental health. If you, or someone you know is feeling like they can't go on, please reach out to someone, anyone. Call 988 at anytime for the suicide and crisis hotline. You only get one life, don't throw it away.

Chris's family has asked me to gather as many photos I can of him. If you have any photos of him, in costume or out. With you, alone, or on a group, please send them to me.

Thank you."

So if you've played the Fallout games, you might recognize this cat.

Her name is Boomer and my friend Ilya Nazarov did the cat paintings based on my cats.

Unfortunately Boomer passed away yesterday. Her brother Galen passed away a few years back.

She was a very sweet cat.
